Warp Shape Calculation

The program calculates the shape of the warp and
the forces affecting the warp during trawling

Purpose and Area of Application

The program calculates the shape of a stretch-resistant warp and the forces affecting the warp during its movement in water. The result of the program is a three-dimension curve determined by points reflecting the shape of the warp, as well as the combined values of forces affecting the warp. The initial information for calculation includes properties of the warp, data on the conditions of trawling and essential parameters of the trawling system

This program can help to solve the following tasks:

• Calculate the shape of the warp and some geometrical and force parameters (depth of trawling, trawl door position, forces generated by the warp, forces affecting the upper point of the warp);
• Adjust trawling parameters (speed, warp length, depressing force of the trawl) and achieve necessary depth of trawling;
• Investigate the performance of different kinds of rope used for a warp;
• Investigate the influence of the "side" force which appears as the consequence of the rope twisting.
